Truth has so many different names.
Belligerent is code for "true but I'm not happy with it".
Calamity is coming, it's not going to be avoided.

Mr. E:
Indeed. I remember when Formosa was thrown under the bus. Taiwan seems to have been a football tossed between Japan and China with America occasionally stepping in to use this strategic country.
Taiwan is a democracy. That in itself renders it idious to the CHICOMS. All those who ignore China's world domination objectives are fools not just wishful thinkers. China could easily militarily overcome Taiwan. All that stops such action is world responses. So China's double scam economic aggression continues.
The biggest surprise here is Rubio's legislation. Moral core is not his strong suit.

China will never invade Taiwan. It would be bad for business.

China can not easily conquer Taiwan. It will be a tough fight, and there is no guarantee that China could take Taiwan on the first attempt. China's military hasn't fought in an armed conflict since the 1970s. It's not easy to launch an amphibious attack on an island nation. It could become another Okinawa. Resupplying troops is also tough. If the Taiwanese choose to fight, which I believe they would, America would come to their aid. China might be able to destroy Taiwan, but not take it intact and not without huge mainland Chinese losses.

I've pointed out more than once to people that in the early days of WWII, Russia helped build the military that Hitler ultimately turned on them. We've essentially done the same thing with China.
