Ignoring your condescension, do you consider Israel to be tribal or western?

Israel and extension Modern Jews in general are effectively part of western civilization. Although Sephardi Jews may have had middle eastern civilizational attributes, as they joined and were absorbed into the larger Jewish population fleeing from Europe, any such traditions were assimilated into the larger Israeli culture. Today's Israelis and Jews and general are part of the west.

Israel since WWII and the return is western. Bibi has an extra leg up from his time in America. In each Jew, however, is a tribal genesis. Tribal warriors are fierce fighters. Golda Meier fought during WWII. Modern Israel is founded on warfare successful against odds, and they survive in a state of readiness. I have PTSD and thoroughly understand living on red alert.
Israelis live under constant threat. They have no where else to go. Erdogan is NOT their friend.

John, after an afternoon on Breitbart, CH's posts are a study in inconsistent thought. Amazing how factual history can be skewed/skewered.

The real threats to Israel are Iran and Syria (really just Iran now as Syria has been systematically devastated by the civil war). Egypt and Jordan have both recognized Israel and are both worried about the threat from Iran, The Saudis have their hands full with dealing with Iran. Israel right now is more secure and stable than at any previous point in its history.

Erdogan is however an Enemy to Israel's main enemies (Iran, Syria and Russia). Erdogan is the main backer of the Sunnis fighting Assad. An Assad-Erdogan alliance is therefore implausible.

That's a funny thing for you to say, especially given what I posted. Saying that Israel is well-equipped for war vs ill-equipped Palestinians is definitely NOT a delusion, it is statement of fact. Literally every source of information anywhere would say what I've said regarding Israel/Palestine and relative force strengths and equipment's, every single one. Your statement directly contradicts consensus reality. As is a statement saying that Egypt is Israel's main enemy, if we lived in 1973 such a statement would be true, in 1973 Israel had no reason to fear (a then pro-western and pro-Israel) Iran and had every reason to fear Egypt; but it is not 1973, its 2018 and the Iran is recognized by global popular consensus as Israels primary adversary, and all major military and political events during the last few decades have backed up the view of Iran as Mortal enemy of Israel. No events of any kind after 1974 have lent support to the Notion of Egypt as implacable enemy of Israel.

Erdogan is essentially Russia and Syria's problem, the destruction of the Assad Regime is a primary objective of Turkey. Talking of heavily armed Palestinian forces is contrary to reality. Hamas has lost every battle it ever fought with Israel and its really only due to Israeli humanitarian sensibilities that the Palestinians have not been forcibly expelled. Just about any other country would have expelled the Palestinians long ago. Also what arms the Palestinians do have are generally supplied by Iran, they (Iran) have a far more advanced armaments industry than Turkey does. The Turks are the main backers of the idea of invading Syria. The Civil war in Syria at this point is essentially Assad vs Erdogan. The Assad regime ought to be preserved as it is currently a major linchpin of regional peace.
