John, why are US troops in Manjib? We are messing abroad again. Defending a Workers Party seems an odd position for American troops. Turkey's willingness to pursue their supposed quick Olive victory should signal determination.
Irani's are gambling with carpet bombing and rubble. Delusional decisions do not bring good endings.

There are a few thousand coalition troops in eastern Syria to support
the YPG fighting ISIS. It's widely believed that the total withdrawal
of American troops from Iraq in 2011 was a disaster, and a lot of
people believe that a total withdrawal of American troops from Syria
now would lead to a full resurgence of ISIS.

It sucks to be policeman of the world, doesn't it.

Yep. Best not to think of the military holding down the desert.
Today I watched "Hotel Rwanda" and viewed the horror of African tribal hatreds. And I'm certain that was the cleaned up version. I wonder how close we will come to open warfare here?
