And if the ex-president is extradited to Spain, the Catalans will fold lke a cheap suit again.

Puigdemont went one giant step too far with his multi-nation speaking tour. His underlying mistaken calculation is failure to acknowledge lack of complete Catalonians' support. In today's PC world, widely expressed FEELINGS of outrage matter.
Factual history should be both available, read and pondered. John's files and head storage are at this point invaluable. We are a nation being increasingly dumbed down and at risk. If you doubt that, browse the hitler youth Hogg and trashed DC streets pictures.
PS
Don't miscalculate the 2nd Amendment's import.

The 'half' that voted against independence are not Catalans, but outsiders: Spaniards and foreign migrants that were allowed to vote. The Catalan people are largely united. The mistake was not to declare independence immediately. At the very least, there would have been that momentum. The leadership panicked (they did) and delayed declaring indepenpendence. I know it was over at that moment.
