That's a hug of a big tall tool with his small "hyper-manly" master trying to put off being "made redundant" for as long as possible, with high hopes that if he behaves VERY WELL he'll be allowed to "retire to The Villages" to sit out the war in relative peace.

..the big tall chinless one will most likely get the Ceaușescu treatment, probably just before the "opening phases" of WWIII.
