I agree that Kim is sending a message that he's not going to be deterred.

Oh no! The UN is threatening to hold another meeting.

So what will the Chinese do, now that Kim has spit in Xi's face?

If nothing substantive, what will Trump do?

Anything less than a massive military response is a decision to sacrifice millions upon the altar of PC "Just War Doctrine". The more capable Kim's weapons capabilities, the higher the eventual slaughter.

As long as those who refuse to learn from history's lessons suffer no consequence for their stupidity, unnecessarily high levels of slaughter will prevail.

People never learn from history. That's why GenDyn is so accurate.

And I was hoping we could delay the next Korean War a couple more years...

If few learned from history, this website wouldn't exist since GenDyn would never have been conceived. Nor is the problem that not enough people learn from history. Nor even that our leadership hasn't learned from history.

The problem is twofold; trying to delay (avoid) an inescapable conflict and a failure to hold accountable those who insist upon delay. Kim is a societal cancer and the longer the delay, the graver the eventual surgery.
