As I tried to indicate above, I should have written "Christians"
instead of "Catholics." The reason for my confusion was that, as of
World War II, it was still official Catholic policy that the Jews were
to blame for the death of Jesus Christ, as specified by the 1555 "Cum
Nimis Absurdu" Papal bull, and the Jews were not officially forgiven
until 1986. I was also under the mistaken impression that Germany was
a mostly Catholic country in the 1930s.
I had this same conversation with someone in another venue, and he
posted the information that I quoted above. So I apologize for my
error, and I apologize for offending you.

I never take offense, as I just figure there's been some wacky misunderstanding of one sort or another.John wrote:As I tried to indicate above, I should have written "Christians"

"Christianity", either as "The Church" (Catholic) or "the churches" (everybody else), hasn't had very much influence over any countries in Europe for a LONG time, so blaming European (German) christians for the actions of psychopaths is like blaming the local flood on frogs because they're both wet and unpleasant.
..I could insert a French joke right about now,.. but I shall refrain.
