I think the Gulshan name in common is coincidence only as far as this attack goes. I have lived in the Gulshan/Baridara diplomatic enclave and to one who knows the area, the choice of location is obvious. Although labeled as a diplomatic enclave it also serves as a commercial and retail and educational center for the more wealthy of Bangladesh and is relatively pourous and hard to secure. Traffic of all sorts, whether by foot, rickshaw, or vehicle and whether by poor, wealthy, or students is common and difficult to control It is easy to penetrate during daylight hours and hide out in during the night. And it is target rich. All in all a logical place to choose for an attack.
