It looks like Europe is finally reaching the conclusions Australia came to 15 years ago. While the world has loved pointing the finger at Australian asylum seeker policy as being brutal, it has worked effectively by stopping the trade in its tracks, and it has saved hundreds, probably thousands of lives from drowning.

The EU seems to be realising that there are only two things that work, just as we did. Better intelligence in cooperation with source countries, and escorting illegal boats back to their port of departure. It must be stressed the importance of a regional agreement on strategy, in our case with Indonesia, and that's where the Australian system has been a true success.

10,000 Greek Farmers Stage Massive Revolt In Athens, Destroy Police Cars http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-02-1 ... olice-cars

"The farmers are understandably upset with Alexis Tsipras and the government for a proposal to triple the social security burden and double income taxes in an effort to appease the powers that be in Brussels who claim Greece has not made enough progress towards fiscal consolidation since the country’s third bailout was agreed last August."

How do you squeeze blood from a stone? If the government has no money and the people have no money how does Greece deal with refugees?
If the refugees refuse to be fingerprinted do you force fingerprinting at the point of a gun? -- "Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun."--

John, you defend migrants and seem to think unchecked immigration is a good thing. How are migrants improving Europe? Europe is on the brink of collapse now. How is that good?

I look upon the stream of migrants entering Europe in the same way I
look at an earthquake or hurricane -- neither good nor bad, but a
force of nature that can be neither caused nor prevented by
politicians.

Some have said that the migration has been caused by the "west's" interfering in the internal affairs of the mid-east countries.
