Turkey is a Sunni country, yet it is fighting ISIS. In the clash of civilisations war, I would expect Turkey to be on the side of Sunni Islam, but their attitude towards ISIS gives me pause.

John, in your opinion which side will Turkey be on and why/how?

I expect ISIS to moderate its views and behavior over time, to make it
more compatible with the Salafists in Saudi Arabia, and I would expect
Saudi Arabia and Turkey to unify against Iran and Russia.

I find it ironic that its likely that the Arabs and Turks will be allies in the coming Middle East crisis war, considering they were enemies during the fall of the Ottoman Empire and in several instances throughout medieval and early modern history. History can be funny in a dark way sometimes.
