I'm finding Nigeria interesting from a Generational Dynamics perspective. Their last crisis war ended in 1970, so this is the 45th year since it ended. I've been seeing low-level violence for about a decade now, but over the past year, the violence has taken a major escalation. Nearly half the deaths caused by Boko Haram were in 2014, and close to 2,000 in Nigeria have already been killed just in the path month alone. It's been 45 years, so while a new crisis war isn't likely, it's still possible.
However, I'm not sure what to make of Yemen, whether the current violence is simply a political struggle and proxy war or if it's energy coming from the people as a whole. At the moment, I'm leaning towards the former, though it'll require further observation.
