This is why the right to keep and bear arms is so important. I suspect that many of the assaults around the world by one group against another would not occur if the citizens had the means to protect themselves. People defending their homes are the strongest of fighters trained or not. Depending upon a government organization to protect you is denial and folly. The truth is and always has been - government arms itself to protect itself not the ordinary citizen.

Unfortunately I live in a country where the state has denied this right to its citizens for a long long time. Consequently ordinary honest citizens are left undefended faced with both the criminals and the state.
