Anybody can work with anybody in the short run.

But Turkey and Russia have been the most bitter of enemies in that
last three major wars -- WW II, WW I, and the Crimean War. These two
countries are the epicenters of the Orthodox Christian and Muslim
civilizations, respectively, and these two countries will be the
bloodiest enemies when the time comes.

Boy John I sure hope you are wrong. This time the collapse will be much worse the that of Rome, Cathay (China), Indus Valley (India), Mesoamerican, etc. ( At least those of recent recognized history , not counting Atlantis, which according to some played a similar game ) because this time the Fukushima phenomenon could take out just about everyone. When it starts, will all 435+ of the worlds nuclear reactors be shut down or maintained? Unlikely. How many will go critical and melt down, who will then stop the ensuing disaster? Enjoy the music as the Titanic goes down.

Oh, and the cherry on top, the Sun appears to be going into a Maunder Minimum cycle of around 70 years, bringing - colder temperatures, crop failures, etc.

I think the rectors will be a problem. I also think a global economic collapse will be terrible because it is unprecedented. When Rome collapsed, Byzantium went on. So did China and the Incas. This time it will be different.
