Re: 13-Jun-14 WV-Obama considers military action in Iraq
One thing I can say is that when it comes to Iraq, we're done. We're washing our hands of it. Their government is practically begging us for support right now, but I doubt they're going to get much of anything. It may even be in our interest to stop them to keep ISIS from launching terrorist attacks here, but at the moment, we don't give a damn. We may be furious with Obama, but it doesn't mean there's any will to do anything. Even though Iraq may be in an awakening era, this is looking to be another Vietnam in terms of how we feel about it. Everyone I know believes that we should never have gotten involved to begin with and that Afghanistan is likely to end up the same way.
To most, this is just going to be a lesson about how we should just ignore the rest of the world, let them go on their merry way, and focus on problems closer to home.

Sunni, Shia; whose do we side with? Should we side with any of them?
The ME seemed a lot more stable when hardline dictators ran the place.
