I would like to understand your rationale for referring to Snowden as a "sleazy American Traitor." I am on the fence about his loyalties myself. I am hesitant to call him a traitor or a hero. His motivations for revealing the deeds of American gov't agencies was almost certainly self serving; but I would hope a call to a greater cause was in his heart as well. That being said, I think that absolutely some of the the real traitors are these government agencies and politicians themselves. A government that collects this amount of information on its citizens is at best suspect at worst potentially despotic. As a former of a SOCOM unit I am committed to keeping certain information to myself and operational security is a high priority in any mission scenario. Anything can be justified to the sheeple if they are led to understand it is fro their own protection and the safety of the nation.
The free showers are to eliminate the louse infestation. Trust me.
Much like IBM created and sold technology to Germany that allowed them to gather data on the entire population, and then used it for national security measures, the data that is being compiled on us is only as innocent as those who would use it against us.

Police departments around the country are being armed with assault vehicles, MWRAPS, and battle gear you typically would not see outside of a major combat arena. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/02/17/smal ... urchase-w/ Even Keene, NH cops wanted one. Notice the turret and MG mount on the top. Even though the owner of the company said "When a Lenco Bearcat shows up at a crime scene where a suicidal killer is holding hostages, it doesn't show up with a cannon. It shows up with a negotiator. Our trucks save lives,"

Police State anyone? I see what Snowden has revealed, to be an eye opener for the people that are still in denial that this government is "for the people." It also seems to support your observations that the crooks at the top are and will go unpunished due to the culture of corruption and greed that has permeated the society. Snowden was not part of the club, and he revealed what was in the diary. Now he is being hunted down for it.

On the Fed I especially enjoyed this remark "I would expect that the asset purchases would continue at a higher pace for longer." They are actually suggesting that purchases/IOU's can grow larger if need be not smaller. The toe in the water got bit now they know they're hung.

Cheers

Several people have been asking me why I referred to Edward
Snowden as a "sleazy traitor" instead of a "whistleblower."

If Snowden had wanted to be a whistleblower, he had many options
open to him. He could have called the NY Times or the Guardian.
He could have called a lawyer specializing in whistleblowers,
and that lawyer would have led him into being internationally
recognized as a hero who exposed the NSA snooping, and at the
same time taking advantage of the whistleblower protection laws.
He could have called a sympathetic politician.

But he didn't do any of those things. According to reports, he packed
up four laptops with top secret U.S. government data, including the
names of many Americans who could be kidnapped or killed or extorted
by terrorists or unfriendly governments around the world. According
to reports, he may have turned this information over to the agents of
China, which is preparing to launch a war against its neighbors in the
South and East China Sea, as well as the United States. He may also
have turned this or other data over to the Russians.

These are not the actions of a whistleblower. These are the actions
of a full-fledged traitor. As far as I'm concerned, he can rot in
jail for the rest of his life.

Julian Assange is sleazy for different reasons. First, I've watched
him live a couple of times giving a speech on the balcony of the
Ecuadoran embassy in London, and the guy just oozes sleaze. My
fingers get sticky just watching him.

Assange was credibly charged with rape by two women in Sweden. He
fled to Britain to escape the rape charges, and in many situations
flight is considered evidence of guilt. He lied to the courts in
Britain and, in doing so, defrauded a number of his supporters who put
up tens of thousands of pounds of bail money for him. Those
supporters lost their money when Assange fled to the Ecuadorn embassy.

The guy is a credibly charged rapist, and the excuse he's giving for
not returning to Sweden is that Sweden will send him to the U.S.,
where he'll be locked up by the CIA, tortured and killed. It's these
ridiculous attacks on the U.S. that make him sleazy, especially when
the only reason is to avoid facing rape charges. What crime would he
be locked up for? The NY Times publishes top secret information all
the time, and nobody there is grabbed by the CIA, locked up and
killed. The whole thing is a sleazy attempt by a rapist to avoid
facing charges for his rape crimes.

The U.S. criminal in the Assange situation is David Manning,
and he, like Snowden, should locked up and allowed to rot in jail
for life.

Finally, as a related matter, I really do not see what the big deal
is about the "NSA snooping."

The IRS, which we now know to be an organization lacking in morals and
ethics, and whose leaders are lying to Congress and taking the fifth,
is a giant snoop, where the NSA is a tiny midget. The IRS is in the
process of expanding its databases for Obamacare. So any authorized
IRS employee, and there are many thousands of them, would have access
to the following information:

* All your tax records

* All your expense reports, including where you go, whom you meet
with, whom you entertain, any business related items you purchase,
and so forth.

* Data from numerous databases across the government:
- Social Security Administration
- the IRS
- Department of Homeland Security
- the Veterans Administration
- Office of Personnel Management
- the Department of Defense
- the Peace Corps

* This data will include:

- What doctors you see.
- What psychiatrists you see.
- What diseases you have.
- Possibly who your sexual partners are.
- The same information about everyone in your family.
- Incarceration status
- Citizenship and immigration status
- All your employers.
- Enrollment in any health plans.

In addition, the federal government can disclose this information
"without the consent of the individual" to a wide range of people,
including "agency contractors, consultants, or grantees" who "need to
have access to the records" to help run ObamaCare, as well as law
enforcement officials to "investigate potential fraud."

(http://news.investors.com/062513-661264 ... htmare.htm)

In other words, the IRS has databases with almost every detail of your
life, and instead of worrying about, people are freaking out because
the NSA has your phone bill (which the IRS probably has anyway, at
least on the business side).

The IRS, whose leadership has no ethics or morals, can destroy your
left any day, and does so to people every day. They can take away
every cent you have, they can get you fired, they can take control
of all your property. The only thing they can't do is kill you,
but they can destroy your life so thoroughly that you might as well
be dead.

Have you read the stories about how the IRS is going to hire tens
of thousands of new unionized employees to explain Obamacare to
people? The person you're talking to will have intimate details
of every aspect of your life.

For example, are you divorced? You ex-wife could sleep with an IRS
agent or with an Obamacare explainer in order to get details about
you, and then use it against you.

So, in brief:
* Snowden is a sleazebag
* Assange is a sleazebag
* The NSA snooping is nothing compared to IRS snooping
* So what Snowden has done is obscured the REAL police state
issues, by allowing the media to focus on the NSA getting your
phone bill, rather than the IRS giving tens of thousands of
people information about every intimate detail of your life.
