I was wondering when you would mention that study. I hope we're prepared, but since we're in the process of dismantling our military, we may not be.

I saw that story about China's weapons buildup a couple days ago and looked for other commentary to validate or refute. The mainstream analysts point to various methodological flaws and detail errors, of course, but their most impressive critique of the "3,000 warhead" claim is that China could not possibly have enough high-grade radioactive material to make more than about 300-400 weapons right now. I have no idea where they get this info, but I imagine it's pretty easy for knowledgeable people to accurately estimate the production of such material.
