We pretty much saw what would happen...the market went from Dow 14K+ to Dow 6K+ in short order and then it could have very easily been "lights out" if it were not for some fairly incredible and coordinated worldwide intervention, bailouts, stimulus, etc. Many people, including myself saw it coming but very few were able to "time it." That will be the case again imo. However, I think the fact that there was worldwide cooperation played a key role. Therefore, when/if that cooperation is not as strong, then you may have your answer. The discussion will go from "too big to fail" to "too big to bail out."
