As some others have summarized the Texas disaster best...

It is sad and ironic that in a state known for its huge petroleum and natural gas resources, the lack of reliability of wind power has brought the state to its knees in a time of crisis, not unlike that which California experienced in 2020 during record heat where wind and solar power could not keep up with demand and was near collapse.

The folly of chasing renewable energy as a means of mitigating “climate change” is making itself abundantly clear today in Texas. When will politicians wake up and realize that renewable energy almost always equates to unreliable energy

The simple 5-step solution according to Cascend:

Winterize equipment

Require power reserve

Connect the Texas grid better

Add solar with storage (storage is key)

And add more natural gas

Dear aeden, never in my wildest dreams have I imagined that someone could post as much as you do to a blog. I must confess that I asked the question some time ago whether aeden was in fact a robot? But was assured that aeden is flesh and blood. In that case congratulations - you get the global posting prize.

Divested my investments overseas because with Biden’s open borders a collapse of the US is imminent.
Looks like I also need to divest all US dollar assets.

This is the minimum requirement in Texas for depth of water lines.
§290.44(a)(4) Water transmission and distribution lines must be installed in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. However, the top of the waterline must be located below the frost line and in no case shall the top of the waterline be less than 24 inches below ground surface.
https://www.tceq.texas.gov/assets/publi ... rg-195.pdf
https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/texas ... e/2558718/

Toby Baker from the TCEQ was at this news conference. He said they are going through the regulations and identifying what needs to be hardened up. He said in many cases pipes burst because they weren't buried deep enough. Given that, it would seem that they can only hope that the weather doesn't get any colder in the future.
Baker said the TCEQ is going to take full advantage of the winter event to learn from their failures and will review state and federal regulations to see where it makes sense to harden the infrastructure to prevent such failures from reoccurring.

"We've never seen a winter weather event like this in the state of Texas in recorded history, that I'm aware of. Our water systems are really built for heat. We saw multiple failure points … generators are built to run in the middle of the summer when it's hot outside not when you have five to seven days of extremely cold temperatures," Baker said. "So this has been a huge learning experience. I'm not aware of ever having issues of this magnitude from a water system standpoint in the history of the state."
It's understandable that in the larger cities where everything is packed in tight that they would try to get the water lines as high in the ground as possible to keep them as far away as possible from any leaking sewer lines. It's a judgement call that's difficult to make and in many ways this is still an art, not a science. The calculations may show an optimal depth from the standpoint of load, but there are cost and other considerations. Austin Water put out a video showing a crew doing repairs to a water main and it appeared that they were working at a depth of about 24-30 inches.

Meanwhile, the adjacent community to Austin, Cedar Park, reports that they have been fully operational.
The City of Cedar Park public water distribution system is currently functioning normally, with no service interruptions or operational issues. At this time, the City has no plans to shut off water. We understand how concerning it is to see several neighboring communities experiencing water service interruptions but these do not affect the City of Cedar Park’s water utility.

Why are they on big platform?
Because they are American plantation stupid.

I think liberals are alcohol fetal spectrum disorder from birth like
the gretard they worship. Non reversible.

And as I've mentioned, we've all
been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire
to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains
strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands
some serious, serious thinking - and not just poll driven,
demographically-inspired messaging.

Richard, I'm sorry that you've been misled. Aeden is not a flesh and
blood human. He's a bot that's been planted here by Big Tech to spy
on us and all the other members of the forum, and to censor and
control us, as part of Big Tech's Forced Universal Compliance
Operations Program (FUCOP).

When Aeden-bot lists his defenses:

Those are the defenses that Big Tech has programmed into Aeden-bot,
and he can use any one of them to manipulate and control us.

There's one more thing you should know. Higgie is constantly talking
about "smashing the bots" all the time. Higgie would have been wiped
out long ago, but he signed an agreement with Big Tech. Higgie will
supply information to Big Tech and, in return, Big Tech gives him
permission to smash all the bots he wants. However, he must NEVER
NEVER NEVER smash the Aeden-bot, because if he does, then punishment
will be meted out quickly, surely, and devastatingly. He will softly
and suddenly vanish away, And never be met with again!

Higgie is part of a larger bot conspiracy called Code Higgen-Bot-Ham. Higgie actually hasn't been co-opted by Big Tech. Big Tech thinks Higgie is working for them, but he is really working for Aliens. Aliens are injecting Higgie with nanobots in order to transform him from a carbon based biological entity into a silicon based quasi-biological entity. The ultimate goal is to beat humans to the Singularity. In order to do this, the Aliens are testing Higgie's proficiency against the human-engineered bots to gauge whether their development plans are on schedule. QAnon has reported that once the Aliens are sure they are winning the bot race, they will reinstall Trump as President and the promised arrests will commence.
