What this told me is just how unprepared we are for a nuclear attack, even less so than we were during the Cold War. Many of them had no idea what to do in such a scenario and the general attitude is "Kiss your ass good-bye". It would be nice if we learned from this and were provided at least some information on finding the safest possible location to take cover, building shelters for those who have the resources to do so, and reopen the shelters that we had during the Cold War. If anything, I think we should expand them.

If an attack is imminent, it's actually not a good idea to evacuate, especially if you live in a major city. They'd never be able to get everyone out in time.
