So for the mentally feeble around these parts can you please explain why 5G is so important? I don't quite grasp what it seems to be fundamentally changing.
Nah,.. I don't believe there are any "truly" mentally feeble folks around these parts, but I will try to feebly explain my weird conjecture about how 5G "phone" service will be the proximal cause/key to why the crisis war will be "delayed" until after it is implemented.

It's really just "a feeling", but I get the impression that China will wait until the "quite fast info infrastructure" (5G) is more "in place" before turning on the high-speed mixer (called "war") that will stir and froth up the planet.

I'm not sure if it's that they may think that they can hijack the system for their exclusive use, or get some sort of "mutually beneficial agreement to not destroy" the system via some "treaty" with "the west" so that they can use it for the war effort, or what.

It's really just a "smell" I'm picking up in the air more than anything else,.. which certainly isn't a very convincing reason to believe such goofiness, but something just kinda went "ptoing!" in my "internal general world model" (aka my "what if" place), much like a dash of pepper in a two scoop vanilla ice cream cone does.

"I didn't order PEPPER VANILLA!"

..yet there it is. The Scoopista is looking at me as if he'd just discovered the tiny starship I'd thoroughly hidden behind the dumpster out back.

Aloha gangies! :) <shaka nui!>

Not much other than pointing out the carriers like to promote products they really haven't deployed. When they were promoting their new "3G", they were still running 2G only. They just lowered the standards so they could call it 3G. Same with 4G, same with 5G. It is all a marketing game. Plus, true 5G will only work in densely populated areas and it will never be deployed in rural markets. The sites have to be too close together and fiber has to be abundant.

OK,.. but does "4G" currently exist?

My "goofball proposition" is that there will be no war (GD BIG Honkin' Crisis War proper) until 5G is "relatively" ubiquitous,.. if only as an "elite technology".

Any "seeming GD Crisis war" will "fizzle" out (very much like a pre-Crisis war), even if it is "nuclear war", but it WILL massively stoke the fires fueling the inevitable REAL GD Crisis war.

Due to movies/tv series, computer games, the TV 27 Hour News Cycle, and YouTube, people have been desensitized to the horrors of nuclear war.

ANY nuclear "skirmish"/war will not initiate the next GD Crisis War. Only a "massively sloppy" and yet "obviously survivable" nuclear war will create an outrage large enough to result in a true post-genocidal turn.

Only when nuclear war can LITERALLY be played like a computer game, where the "command personnel" are GUARANTEED another "quarter for the next game", will the BIG/"FINAL" war start.

..now, that's either happy news or really terrible news, depending on ones disposition.

Aloha. :) <shaka!>

Why the polls are probably underestimating Trump:
