Comprehensive War Timeline - A Great Resource!

Post by Marshall Kane »

A while back I stumbled across this excellent site called The War Scholar and meant to share it. It seems the site is now offline, but I was able to find it archived. Anyway, the title sums it up nicely:

A MILITARY HISTORY TIMELINE OF WAR AND CONFLICT ACROSS THE GLOBE 3000 B.C. to A.D. 1999
http://web.archive.org/web/200804080639 ... tml#Modern

It's color coded by region and laid out in such a way that makes it useful for spotting interesting trends (like what the heck was going on with those 4 civil wars in Samoa between 1880 and 1900?http://web.archive.org/web/200805122300 ... /1875.html).

I also love that it includes smaller conflicts, internal revolts and diplomatic crisis, etc. For example, on the North American timeline you've got major slave revolts AND even conflicts between various Indian tribes!

If anyone knows of a similar or better web resource I'd love to know about it. At some point I'd love to put something like this together specifically reflecting generational theory.
