Re: 31-Dec-12 World View -- Iran and Turkey trade accusation

PKK is Kurdish workers party. Apart from hating Turkey, I don't see what they've got in common with Iran. Re: 26-Dec-12 World View - Andrew Sullivan / Gun Control Fan

Personally, I think that 310 million figure is too low, but that's me.. What the answer is for the US problems of gun violence, I don't know. I do know that people are wanting security now, and they'll insist that government do something, effective or not. The issue with armed guards is simple enoug...

It's kind of odd up in Kurdistan, for example, visas. You can get a visa at the airport for fifteen dollars, IIRC. You can't travel to Kirkuk on that visa, as soon as you hit the border you'll be stopped and possibly arrested. That's a Kurdistan visa, so according to the Baghdad government you are n...

Re: Financial topics

People want security, not fast growth and risk now. Going to be interesting if we actually do stop creating that many bonds, where does the money go then? Mattresses? Problem with passing any law now is the amendments tied to it. People who want to create products in the US, cool, tie in increased H...

China's energy plan isn't a secret, it's just not what the European Greens want to hear. They are going to build a large number of the gas moderated pebble bed reactors I referenced here as under development in China a couple of years ago. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/25/business/energy-environmen...

3D printing will eventually reach a point where it's cheaper to print many items at home or in a "kinko" type printing facility than manufacture them in a factory. At that point, those items are effectively removed from the economy save as raw material supplies. The economic structure will change dr...

Merry Christmas This has enormous potential. Even just allowing for updates on business card phone numbers would be a huge thing. Peel and stick flexible circuits are going to be cheaper than the solid silicon substrate too, note that the silicon wafer is usually undamaged and can be reused, thus e...
