True. Problem with genocide is ...its kind of hard. Soviets gave it a shot in the 80s, turned out to be a pain in the ass.psCargile wrote:I agree, only two ways to "win" in Afghanistan: total genocide or to leave.

Re: 25-Jul-17 World View -- Massive Kabul bombing on Monday leaves US Afghan policy in tatters
This situation is sucking up an awful lot of military resources which are desperately needed to prepare for/deter Increased Chinese aggression in the first island chain. IMO the gravest threat to core US national security interests. Access to the western pacific and the ASEAN economies will be vital...

Re: 21-Jul-17 World View -- Relations between Germany and Turkey spiral into crisis / Turkey commemorates coup annivers
John, I'm wondering, do you think Turkey will side with NATO or with the other Sunni states in the coming wars, or will they seek to forge their own path? How much revanchism exists among the younger generations with regard to Turkey's historical regional hegemony? I understand that this will be clo...

Re: 5-Jun-17 World View -- US and Iran-backed troops head for confrontation at al-Tanf on Iraq-Syria border
It has been made abundantly clear by the Trump administration that anyone or anything approaching al-tanf will be inderdicted and destroyed in the open by U.S. air power. Anyone who violates the current agreement and threatens us forces on the ground will be fully liable to be engaged and destroyed ...

If only the Chinese would send Kerry an email claiming to be an ousted Nigerian prince just enter your email password and the fortune can be yours!, then we'd really see tough guy Obama lay the smack down. Oh well.

Re: 19-Dec-16 World View -- Chinese bombers circling Taiwan raise talk of war during Trump's first term
My personal hope is that China will see that attacking the u.s. And triggering a major conflict, will render them a despised global pariah with whome nobody will want to trade or be associated with. That the word "china" will become synonymous with belligerence and evil like nazi Germany or Imperial...

Re: 17-Nov-16 World View -- African nations furious over possible collapse of climate change agreement
Where I live it's freezing cold. Before that, it was at the bottom of a massive inland lake with a tropical climate boasting a co2 level of 400ppm, a lake which itself was left behind by the melting of what used to be a massive sheet of ice over a mile thick...I would like to know what coal plants a...
