Re: 22-Aug-10 News -- The global rise of xenophobia

The fear is Islamophobia. and therefore, by definition, irrational. If you are not afraid, when a killer enters your house to do harm to you and your family, then you have no clue what the function of fear is. It doesn't matter whether you are armed or not, that is just how you plan to channel that...

Re: 22-Aug-10 News -- The global rise of xenophobia

Few voices are saying stop all mosque building in the US. Rational people are saying let's not build a mosque on a site that was partially attacked on 9/11 (landing gear from Atta's plane crashed through the roof of the former Burlington Coat Factory at 51 Park Ave) in the name of Islam. Such a mosq...

Re: 11-Aug-10 News -- US and Vietnam conduct naval exercises

The $1 coin surplus is ironic to me since I so rarely find one that when I do, I hold on to it and don't spend it. I also see the Tooth Fairy uses them almost exclusively ;)! I sure my eldest has figured out why I'm so keen to buy them back.

Re: Scandals in the Church as generational corruption?

That's a pretty amazing chart. I don't know if this will help or not, but my theory about new religious movements is that they get launched during Awakening eras, and become either established or extinguished during Crisis eras. Perhaps looking at it that way may help. John I'd agree with that as f...

Re: Scandals in the Church as generational corruption?

I'll do some research on the subject of generational influence upon the Christian church. I imagine I need to confine the exercise to the last 200 years when the modern world came into being. I can't promise anything very soon, but will get there.Richard I did some historical research on Presbyteri...

Re: 23-Jun-10 News -- Kurdish terrorists bomb bus in Turkey

Correction: Istanbul is the largest city and not the capital of Turkey. Ankara is as your map clearly denotes. Otherwise, as usual, an excellent post full of your GD acumen. Cheers!

... The other big problem is that US interest rates will have to go up and as they do the yield on stocks has to keep pace, but since earnings will not go up that fast the price on the stocks will have to go down to get a competitive yield. So again, "major long term drop" seems to be coming. I'm c...

I can't speak to anything you quoted; however, I can't substantially disagree with any of the following statements by LaRouche: <various correct info quotes from the article> Higgie, I admire your intellectual integrity by quoting the source for your comparison to the 14th century Florentine Ba...

Re: Inflation, deflation, gold and currencies

... Tally sticks are great because they were impossible to counterfeit. I am trying to make some nearly impossible to counterfeit gold coins. Don't have it all done yet, but the basic idea is to have some randomness that can't be reproduced exactly in the coin and a high res image online with URL o...
