And when nuclear fusion technology matures, it will become possible (if not economically feasible) to fashion extremely pure gold out of other metals. With mature nuclear fusion technology it becomes practical to migrate out into the galaxy too. You lost me, I understand how nuclear reactions make ...

With mining technologies growing by leaps and bounds and spreading to areas of the world only seen by "modern medieval" (or even neolithic) people, a new Comstock Lode could occur at any time. Most people don't realize this, but diamonds superior to those occurring naturally are now manufactured. An...

Re: American xenophobia on the Left and on the Right

Factually and historically speaking, the most recent likely Christian equivalent of the current state of Islam is the Spainish Empire (of approx. 1500-1800A.D.). An earlier equivalent, would be "Northern Europe" (e.g. Germanic, Scandinavian, Anglo-Saxon) before the Reformation. Almost any historical...

Under a fractional reserve banking system, banks create money by lending. These banks have capital requirements. Overstating the value of their assets (whether they be derivatives, foreclosed properties, expected returns on loans, etc.), essentially allows all sorts of mischief (e.g. leveraging the ...
