Re: Great Persons According to their Generational Archetype

That is interesting. I recall that Howe and Strauss did that to some degree http://www.booknotes.org/Watch/17548-1/ ... rauss.aspx though I've not seen an extensive study. If you create such a document and post your results here, I suspect that you will get a lot of input.

Re: 1-Nov-11 World View - China seeks military bases in Paki

The ChiCom Party line is something to the effect of "No Chinese troops have ever been sent abroad to occupy one inch of foreign soil". The inference from the Chinese perspective is that they are preparing to send troops abroad to protect Chinese land that is disputed. In this case, they intend to go...

Smoke and mirrors, all smoke and mirrors, if David Copperfield had been unable to make the Statue of Liberty reappear, the illusion would have lasted for hours, and Mr. Copperfield would have been on the Concord with the boxoffice proceeds headed for parts unknown. Of course these aren't master illu...

These so called "financial experts" have less sense of probability than a half-blind sot shooting craps in a skidrow alley. OTOH, they are using other people's money and do have "get-away-cars".

Re: Retirement

Its easy to make very precise calculations, easier than ever given the legions of software packages created specifically for that purpose. The problem is finding reliable assumptions to serve as a basis. If GenDynm is correct, the big picture for the next twenty years is uncertain at best.

Obama plans on winning that election and then pulling out of Afghanistan even if it is a total defeat. Obama is promising Pakistan a free hand in Afghanistan after the electio...

If China did start a war, why would they pick Taiwan ... Are you familiar with the Chinese mind? If so, you'll understand that PRIDE more than anything will cause them to go after Taiwan. As far as Red China is concerned, Taiwan IS their possession, just another province. I've heard that view not o...

Re: 2012 Presidential Question

Obama is most likely a late Boomer. The most interesting point is that it appears that unless Joe Biden, most likely a late Silent, becomes POTUS the Silents will be the first generation in American history without a President. In any case, as I see it, these are more Strauss/Howe than GenDynm issue...

The proposed eurocrisis fund would under the most extremely optimistic circumstances be a mere fraction of the wealth needed to solve the problem over the short term. The same proposal is stopped dead in its tracks in Slovakia, and the markets rocket skyward. The business media paints the upward mov...
