Re: Financial topics

Just reading the last few pages of posts, it's clear that despite efforts by the government the contagion has not been contained and, as we all expected, is getting worse and is not nearly done deflating/unwinding these bubbles. So here is one big question - for the lucky ones who have been able to ...

Re: Financial topics

I don't agree that the Fed is in a "panic" - Bernanke "believes" he knows what he is doing. The problem of course is that much of what he is now doing has not been done in recent history or at the scale he is planning. Having said that, I'm not sure it's possible for the Federal Reserve to become ba...

Re: Financial topics

Hyperinflation is Impossible What do you make of this ? Matt - I think Matt Stiles in the first article had it right, at least for the US. If Eric deCarbonnel's theory is correct then the US would have seen massive inflation in the 1930's, but that didn't happen. Matt Stiles talks in his article ab...

Re: Financial topics

From Martin Armstrong: What we are confronted with currently, is what I have throughout the years defined as the "Waterfall Effect" that is a complete type of collapse from what you might call Exhaustion following a curved decline. Penetrating the Nov. low, could lead to a drop to 4,000 by June 200...

Re: Financial topics

Here's what I think is a decent link to an investment firm who is actually reporting P/E ratios correctly and detailing out different index levels based on future earnings. I do not agree with the "peak to peak" methodology used in the report, but interesting nonetheless. Take a look and let me know...

Re: Financial topics

Hi John - I think what is happening here is a social dynamic in which people are having a very difficult time accepting what we can clearly identify and see as a new reality. I've observed this many times before and in many contexts. Humans in general seem to have a very difficult time understanding...

Is Russia Trying to Provoke a War?

Why is Russia stopping all shipments of natural gas through the Ukraine and thereby causing massive shortages throughout much of Europe? In the midst of a freezing winter, for Russia to do this is very, very strange. Thoughts?

Re: Financial topics

John - Not to go too far into a tangent, but you may be aware that the Old Testament has something called the "Jubilee Year" which was supposed to occur at regular intervals every 50 years. When the Jubilee year occurred, land (and related leases on the land) would be closed and the land returned to...

Re: Financial topics

Hi John - Thanks for finding that video of Koo's speech - it really helped fill in the blanks of the presentation I had posted. I agree with your conclusions that international trade surely must have helped buoy Japan's economy since its crash in the early 90's. I also concur with your analysis that...

Re: Financial topics

John - On another note, I stumbled upon the forecasts of a person named Gerald Celente today. After doing some investigation, I found a bunch of YouTube videos of him being interviewed on a number of radio shows. He is predicting that we will first observe a deep depression and then hyperinflation t...
