Re: Generation-X culture vs Boomer culture

... Some of the Xers in this forum -- vincecate, CrosstimbersOkie, Tom Acre, perhaps yourself sometimes -- think of Boomers as nothing more than buffoons and clowns and idiots that you can screw around with, jerk around, manipulate, humiliate and control to your heart's content... I'm saddened to h...

... More importantly parents are SHOWING children morality and > values through their behavior. I assume that the behavior you're referring to is creating tens of trillions of dollars of fraudulent securities, and then selling them to investors, and painting themselves as helpless victims. Or, mayb...

Re: Generation-X culture vs Boomer culture

This is completely irrelevant, and nowhere addresses the point of whether these parents are teaching these children the importance of ethics and morals. The Bourne passage indicates that they don't, and that they consider ethics and morals to be a useless duty imposed on them by a worthless older g...

Re: Generation-X culture vs Boomer culture

Well, that's the generational joke. Nomads teach their children not to have morals or ethics, as the excerpt from Bourne implies, but the children turn into Heroes and develop ethics and morals anyway during the crisis. They're then despised by the next Nomad generation. Ha, ha. With a minute to po...

Re: 9-Dec-11 World View -- Sarkozy: Europe risks a new explo

Who cares what generation they belong to? They deserve to be serving 20-year prison sentences. I agree. In my experience, that's what a Boomer would say, but not what a Gen-Xer would say. John That is completely untrue. Everyone I know would love to see ALL of these fraudsters behind bars for 20+ y...

Re: 9-Dec-11 World View -- Sarkozy: Europe risks a new explo

In this Generation-X culture of fraud and extortion, no one who commits an actual crime is considered a criminal. The only people considered criminals are the accusers. Easy there Baby Boomer! Holder is a Boomer, born 1951. Corzine is a Boomer, born 1947. What does that have to do with the statemen...

It works in the United States because of massive transfers of money from "rich" states to "poor" states. Its really far, far, far more haphazard in the United States. GDP and/or per capita income per state appears to have a somewhat dubious relationship to total federal grants to states per capital...
