Re: 7-Jun-10 News -- Globally, May was a month of ominous events
I consider my Grandfather, born in 1923, to be between the Hero and Artist archetypes. Before he passed away, he wrote a book about the first 18 years of his life. In it, there are lots of excellent stories about meeting my Grandmother for the first time, surviving the Great Depression, and because ...

Re: How Millennial are you?
1. Cell phone (my VOIP won't work without electricity) 2. Nope 3. I'd beg my wife to do it. 4. Steak on the grill! :P 5. open packet 6. Put the cat outside every few hours (if it was raining, I'd lure it with catnip in the grass) 7. Drive to go visit them (if same town), write snail mail letter if o...

Re: Scandals in the Church as generational corruption?
That is interesting. Are you saying this is the case despite of the fact that those countries should be well into awakening periods now? Or are you saying that the high/recovery period should be about to close, brining on some of the new more liberal attitudes that awakening periods generally bring?...

Re: How Millennial are you?
Yes, that is a pretty accurate description on both of us. My wife's parents are late Silents, but my parents were both early Boomers. I'm an only child but was essentially the youngest grandchild on both sides of the family. My wife was the youngest child and close to the youngest grandchild in her ...

Vince,
Are you a Gen-X'er? I am assuming this because of the 1974 in your name. If so, that must be why I agree with you over 99% of the time! I've read a good number of your posts throughout the forum and believe that you have put good thought into them. Wow--that is certainly a long list!

Re: Climate Change
Actually, oil is relatively cheap. To get an appreciation for how hard it is to get it out of the ground, even in Saudi Arabia, go read the book "Twilight in the Desert". That book gives a grim assessment on the future of oil prospects in the middle east. And that does not even touch on refineries. ...

Re: Scandals in the Church as generational corruption?
I believe there is one other problem in trying to apply generational theory to the Catholic Church: it's size. By that, I mean it operates in well over 100 countries, of which there are some in each one of the four turnings. The Pope himself is likely to be influenced by the turnings within southern...

Re: How Millennial are you?
My wife and I both scored below 15, and we're born in the 1970's. I wonder if that makes us "old-fashioned Gen-X'ers" or "nouveau Boomers"?

Re: generational conflict between y and boomers...your thoughts,
Felix, By Generation Jones, are you referring to the Boomer generation? I assume you are, and I would say you have a healthy amount of contempt for their attitudes. But, at the risk of making you angry, I would like to pose one thing to you: Their memory of "starting out" is so long ago, it is faded...

Re: "Generation Zero - The Inconceivable Truth" - the movie
I am also excited about the movie and plan to see it! Is there going to be a central list of theaters that plan to show it, or should I just my local listings and call to complain if my local theaters don't show it? Since Generational Dynamics touches on chaos theory, I have to agree (somewhat) with...
