I really can't. I don't think there's been anything remotely comparable
to the Spanish Flu pandemic or the 1929 crash.

Can you think of post 1960 examples from other nations for us to watch for, John?

The Cuban missile crisis was a political event that was over in a day.
So basically, events with a tangible, extreme and direct impact on younger individuals over a wide area. Does clear up the conditions required for the hypothesis a bit. What events post-1950 would rate in the US, in that case?
I can't think of any.

Thanks, Heisie, but you and I have drawn completely opposite
conclusions. What I see is that the world is more insane every day.
Today it's more insane than it was yesterday, and less insane than it
will be tomorrow. Thanks, again.

No. The kind of event that precipitates the 58 year phenomenon is
something like the Spanish Flu pandemic or the 1929 crash that deeply
affects every family to their core, including the children. That JFK
assassination is nothing like that, and most children probably weren't
even aware of it.

So we can look forward to a panic about assassinations in America in 2021?
