Guest:
Having raised an only son, being a full-time observant Mom, I know that human beings' first reaction to someone of a different skin color is cause for surprise and pause. What follows forms a foundational mind set, sometimes positive, sometimes negative. Successive education and communication are key factors in personal racial perceptions and actions.
Africa is a tribal continent. White settlers have contributed to feeding the population. Some have used and abused various tribes. Periodically American blacks demand "reparations" for ancestors' slavery.
The past is history no matter how leftists attempt to rewrite facts. South Africa's land confiscation is an outlandishly self-destructive policy. Like socialists advocating their nonsense in the face of Venezuela, South Africa planning land grabs knowing full well Zimbabwe's fate is the depth of racism and potential genocide.

John, I think there is a problem with your conclusion. You say the SA government probably won't go through with widespread evictions because it would hurt the economy. However, you have written many times over how 'war is bad for business' is a flawed idea because human emotions and xenophobia can easily override economic concerns. What's to keep the same thing from happening in South Africa?

I have lived in a couple of black countries, and both were extremely corrupt and dysfunctional. Common sense didn't seem to exist in those counties. Also, racial hatred is a huge factor. Blacks don't even seem to think they are capable of being racist because it's somehow impossible for them to be racist no matter how racist they behave. In other words, there is little holding them back from racial violence.

I agree that "genocide" is not the right term but I did believe that white farmers were being targeted but, as you say, the whole country is crime-ridden and lots of people die all the time due to violent crime (assuming that 47 number is correct).

It is my understanding though that the murders involving the white farmers are extremely sadistc and violent beyond your standard "got shot/stabbed during a mugging".
Check the Guardian article.
The Guardian?!!!    There's a reliable news source...
