Big smoke, China has made it clear that Taiwan is okay so long as they understand that they - Tiawan - are, and remain a part of China. This clearly upsets that understanding.

A Taiwanese friend once explained to me that there were representatives for different parts inside China and since it was not possible to hold new elections in these parts, these representatives held their seats till they died.
